Electric Vehicle
The electric vehicle is not a prototype more that we are manufacturers at auto shows, or a style figure unveiling a hypothetical future of transportation. If it foreshadows one of the best alternatives for our movement of tomorrow, it is before all a vehicle which is used for more than a century and which millions of units (all combined electric vehicles) run every day.
The electric vehicle is not new. Its history dates back more than 100 years (see specific dates).

The first achievements and tests of electric vehicles take place in the 19th century. In the following years, improvements, including batteries, are joining the electric propulsion of many builders. And until the early 20th century, competitions involve competition different energies: oil, steam and electricity.

The first car to exceed 100 km/h in 1899 was an electric car: the never happy (photo above against), developed by a Belgian engineer.

Between 1900 and 1914, the electric vehicle has the rating in the industrialized world. New batteries appear while existing ones are progressing. The qualities of electric vehicle attract even new customers: women.


The vehicle electric, otherwise referred to as "vehicle embedded energy", has a battery to store energy, motor continuous with a control system and a charger of batteries (see figure opposite).

Thus, the electric traction motors are connected to the drive wheels. The computer control, manages and regulates the power. A connection to the electrical network card allows the loading of the batteries via a traditional decision-making. There are also vehicles "hybrids" that use an electric motor to improve the performance of the thermal part and increase autonomy between two full.
