Germany's Manz received 550 million yuan in "blood transfusion" from the EU

Foreign media reported that Manz AG, a German lithium battery equipment manufacturer, announced that it has received 70 million euros (about 550 million yuan) from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs. Financial support.

The funding is part of the European Common Interest Project (IPCEI) to promote research and innovation in the European battery value chain. Manz, as one of the few lithium-ion equipment in Europe with extensive manufacturing experience, will play an active role in this project and obtain Huge subsidies.

It is reported that Manz will use the funds to expand its production capacity in Europe and develop a new generation of lithium battery equipment and manufacturing processes to further meet the needs of the rise of the European power battery industry and lower battery manufacturing costs.

At present, Manz has obtained orders for power battery equipment including German lifepo4 battery PACK company Akasol, international auto parts company TE Connectivity, French battery manufacturer Saft, Slovak start-up battery company InoBat Auto, and many European OEMs. Obtain more orders from local European battery companies.

At the same time, Manz is still supplying lithium battery equipment to the European battery factories of Korean battery companies such as LG New Energy, and it is possible to reach a cooperation with Chinese battery companies building factories in Europe in the future.

It is worth noting that although Manz currently has a more prominent competitive advantage in the European equipment market, Chinese lithium battery equipment companies are rapidly rising, actively deploying in the European market, and becoming an important participant in the construction of the European power battery industry chain.

Industry insiders pointed out that the new European power battery infrastructure will put forward high-efficiency and stable production and delivery requirements for the field of lithium battery equipment. Compared with Japanese and South Korean companies, China's leading lithium battery equipment companies currently have faster and more stable delivery capabilities, and are expected to become an important choice for European battery companies to accelerate production capacity construction.

With the rapid rise of domestic lithium battery equipment and the demand for competition in the international market, Chinese lithium battery equipment companies are expected to seize this wave of European power battery investment and construction opportunities to achieve a leap-forward transformation from replacing imports to exporting.
